Remarks

• medium sized pectinid, normal adult sizes between 30-45mm.
• typical are the white-redbrown designs near the umbo, in older growth phase it can reach all kinds of colour variation
• closely related to the other Caribbean members of the genus: Caribachlamys sentis and Caribachlamys mildredae
